MAPP Steering Committee

 

The MAPP Steering Committee comprised of 15 representatives from groups, organizations, and agencies that represent local public health system partners and community residents from the three counties.  The committee reflected the geographic, economic, age, racial and ethnic, and other diversities in these communities.  The Steering committee provided oversight to the implementation of the Mobilizing for Action through Planning and Partnerships (MAPP) process.  The steering committee assisted with the following:

  • Overseeing the planning and evaluation of the process
  • Maintaining momentum throughout the process
  • Ensuring the process reflects the three keys of MAPP
  • Planning efforts include but not limited to brainstorming methods
  • Discussing feasibility of approach
  • Assigning responsibility to and identifying resources for MAPP activities
  • Attend steering committee meetings
  • Publicize the MAPP process, activities, and results to partner organizations and residents
  • Recruit community residents and organizations to participate in the process
  • Attend MAPP events
  • Actively participate in implementation of selected MAPP activities
  • Ensure sustainability of the process by connecting activities, outputs and outcomes with individual partner organization goals, mission and interests.
